The Gift of A Lifetime
by Katherine Belej, RNCP

For three years I spent most of my time lying on the couch with intolerable pain from my head down to the bottom of my feet. This pain was mostly on my left side. Even though I was daily consuming large amount of anti-inflammatory drugs as though they were candy, I had no relief from pain. At times when I was somewhat able to get up and around I noticed that occasionally my left leg did not want to move forward with the rest of me. I also noticed that I had lost considerable muscle tone in my lower left leg. I mentioned this to my doctor several times, but it was just shrugged off. At this time I felt that I was experiencing symptoms similar to Multiple Sclerosis, or at least with nerve involvement of some sort. But my family physician just told me, " You don’t have MS".

After nagging him about the possibility several times, he finally told me that he did not know what else he could do for me. Just to calm me down he suggested that maybe and MRI could be arranged if I wanted one. However, the waiting list was a minimum of 6 months. My other option he gave was to go to the United States and pay out of my own pocket a large sum of money that I did not have at the time. He believed that my only problem was "plantar fascitis". I was so naïve at this time. I went from one podiatrist to another. I paid several thousand dollars for orthotics and none of them helped me in any way.

One day in 1995 after visiting my family doctor, I came home in tears. I knew that I was very ill. I just felt nauseated from the pain, and weaker than ever. I knew that I had to take responsibility for my own health. If I did not do something drastic I could end up in a wheelchair or even die. At that moment I spotted a photo of my two sons and husband. Then and there I decided to fight with whatever I had left.

The first thing I did was make an appointment with a Chinese Medical Doctor who specialized in Chinese herbs and acupuncture. Acupuncture proved to ease my pain. The Chinese herbs specifically designed for my kidneys also began to help. I reached a point where I was able to sleep without pain at night. After several monthly visits to this doctor, showing progressive improvements, he then was able to inform me that, when I first came to see him, my bodily organs were only functioning at a 40% level. To put it nicely, I was on my way out!

The days were still difficult. I also began going to a chiropractor and experienced some relief with that as well. The chiropractor was the only one who ever considered taking x-rays of my spine. In doing so, scoliosis was found.

At this time my husband suggested that I study something useful to keep my mind occupied during the days. Then I wouldn’t focus so much on the pain. I began studying "Advanced Holistic Nutrition". After I completed my nutritional training, and received my professional standing as an RNC, I took a course on Nutrition and Kinesiology in Toronto, Ontario. Here I was introduced to CRA and a video of Dr. D.A. Versendaal. I knew that God sent me there for a reason. I was intrigued. As we were practicing in the class, the Virus Reflex was found to be "electrical" on my body. The instructor verified this and suggested some supplements that would help me with the virus. The virus seemed to be located in my spine. When I got home, I immediately ordered CRA videotapes. I watched these tapes over, and over, and over.

Later I met a colleague who had other Dr. Versendaal tapes. She loaned the tapes to me, and I began studying them as well. I practiced testing the reflexes on my husband and children and close friends. Each month I became more comfortable at doing CRA. I had my husband check me with CRA. He found not only one virus reflex, but two. I knew then why I was unable to get rid of it. Seeing we cannot get Standard Process nutrition in Canada, I spent the next two years studying their supplements and searching for suitable replacements. It took me three months to get rid of the first virus and the rest of a year to get rid of the second one. Once the viruses finally left my body, I began feeling much better. I no longer experienced that ongoing pain all day long. It was intermittent.

My battle with my illness did not end there. My chiropractic adjustments didn’t hold for long periods. More reflexes began showing up. Boy, I still had a lot of work to do! I continued to study and to learn CRA. I continued to heal.

My battle is not over yet, but I can honestly say that I feel 90% better. Healing is a process and it definitely needs to be addressed in a holistic manner. Not only did I have to work on the physical level, but the emotional and spiritual levels as well.

I began my own nutritional practice in 1997 and have been using CRA from the day I opened my doors to my clients. Since I started from scratch, the first year was a rough one. But now I am getting more and more calls and people are coming to see me from as far away as a 10-hour drive.

May God bless all those who are helping others with CRA. This is truly the Gift of a Lifetime.
